Dorothy E. Ruggless

Dorothy E. Ruggless, 95, of Pennsauken, NJ, Passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, April 23, 2021. Dorothy was born on April 13, 1926 in Pennsauken, NJ to Charles and Anna (Henney) Hittie. She was the first baby ever to cross the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on her Christening Day. Dorothy was married to the late Merlie Jacob Ruggless, Jr. and together raised their daughter, Katherine. She went to college and was the first female manager at the RCA Service Company in Cherry Hill, NJ. Dorothy was a proud member of the Martin Luther Chapel and was a library aid for the Martin Luther Christian School, where everyone knew her as "Mom Mom". Her and her daughter also helped set up and run the Chapel's Christmas Shop every year. She was an avid supporter of the Garden State Choir and a collector of angels. Dorothy was interested in all kinds of handcrafting including crocheting and knitting. She loved watching British comedies. She went to music concerts with her daughter and grandkids, enjoying all types of music from the Oak Ridge Boys to Metallica. Anyone who walked in her house could call her mom, grandmom or Gee. She will be dearly missed. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brother, Herb Hittie. She leaves behind, to cherish her memories, her daughter, Katherine Ruggless; her grandchildren, William Phillip Ruggless Sr., and his wife Jolanda and Phillip Ruggless, Sr.; her great-grandchildren, Anna Luz Ruggless, Kayla Liz Ruggless and William Phillip Ruggless, Jr.; her nieces; Cindy and Stephanie and her nephew; John Michael. A viewing will be from 10:00 -11:00 am on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Inglesby and Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken, NJ 08109. Service will begin at 11am. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. Visitation services will be held in accordance with COVID guidelines, therefore limiting individuals within the facilities. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Martin Luther Chapel Lutheran Church, 4100 Terrace Ave., Pennsauken, NJ 08109. Due to the overwhelming support and love for Dorothy, we ask, to please be considerate of the family and others wishing to pay respects.
