Florann S. Knecht

Florann S. Knecht (nee Strohlein), 87, of Atlantic Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2015. She is predeceased by her son Harry Jr., brother Alfred Strohlein, and her beloved husband Harry C. Knecht, to whom she was married from 1950 until his death in 1998. She is survived by her children, Marion (Robert) Benton, Irene (William) Berman, Lynne (Jeffrey) Roskein, and Carl (Judy) Knecht; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Hannah, and Laura; brother, Joseph; as well as many nieces and nephews. Florann was born and raised in Palmyra, NJ. She was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School and Immaculata College, with a degree in Art History. Florann was an original member of the Heritage Society at Immaculata and was a founding member of the Marian Chapter of NJ for Immaculata. She was also very active in St. Peter's and Scared Heart's PTA, where she made many lifelong friends. Her married years were lived in Merchantville, NJ and Cinnaminson, NJ. Florann and Harry enjoyed entertaining friends and family both in Cinnaminson and Avalon. Florann was extremely creative and took great pride in decorating her home and creating beautiful oil paintings. She was also an excellent gourmet cook, and her infectious laugh is remembered by her friends and family at the many parties she and Harry hosted. In addition to entertaining, Florann and Harry loved to golf and travel. Florann was extraordinarily kind and giving, she left the world better than she found it, and lived her life guided by the principles of her abiding faith. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 7pm to 9pm at Inglesby & Sons Funeral Home, located at 2426 Cove Rd. Pennsauken, NJ 08109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, located at 103 Fourth St., Riverton, NJ 08077. Florann will be laid to rest at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Humane Society.
