Florence A. Rettinger

Florence Flossie A. Schoenstein Age 88 of Moorestown, NJ, and lifelong resident of Barrington, NJ went home to be with our LORD Jesus Christ May 14, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Augusta Schoenstein. Beloved wife of the late Richard M. Rettinger, Sr. who proceeded her death in 1984. Loving and devoted mother to Janis L. Rettinger Johnson Jim, Richard M. Rettinger, Jr. Cheryl, Gary W. Rettinger Donna, David S. Rettinger, Sr. Alexis, and Wendy J. Rettinger Ballweg Tony. Cherished Nana to Matt, Adam, Rick, Katie, Denise, Donna Marie, Laura, Alyssa, Amanda, Alex, David, Kimberly, the late Allison, Emily, and Ariel. Precious Great Nana to Matt, Aaron, Christian, Matthew, Gabriel, Ashlyn, Michael, Sarah, Emma, Benjamin, Anthony, Anna, Grant, and Elise. Flossie is also survived by her brother Herman Schoenstein of Texas, brother-in-law William L. Rettinger Ellen and sister Jane Rettinger Platt, Pete. Flossie was a long time member of Barrington First Presbyterian Church, where she held the role of Sunday School teacher of the Nursery for 25+ years and was affectionately known as "Nana" to each and every child that passed through her classroom. She was a member of Woman's Circle and participated every year in their Annual Mother's Day Flower distribution. Flossie volunteered at The Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, where she would cheerfully bring flowers and small gifts from the gift shop to patient's rooms. She visited with shut-ins and was the first to arrive at someone's door when there was a need for help or a newborn had arrived. Above all, Mom touched many hearts with her generous spirit and faith in God and will be greatly missed by anyone who was blessed to have crossed her path. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, nana and great nana, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Her family takes solace in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Richard and all those who have passed before her. Relatives and friends may pay their respects Friday evening at the First Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 401 Clements Bridge Road 7 to 9, and Saturday 9 to 10:45, service to follow at 11 AM. Interment in Harleigh Cemetery in Camden. Please in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in honor of their mother to the First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville 10 W. Center Street or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
