Josephine Marie Sorg

Josephine Marie Sorg died peacefully on February 13, 2021 at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her family after suffering with Alzheimer's for 15 years. The disease never erased the caring, loving, supporting and giving person that she was throughout her life. Josephine was born and raised in Camden, and she and her husband ran a successful roofing business for 55 years. She was the secretary, accountant, office manager, typist, and heart of the business. She was very involved in her local church St. Anthony of Padua in Cramer Hill, organizing social events and constantly helping people who needed help. She later became very involved in Cathedral Academy's Mother's Club and you would always find her cooking for fund raiser events. She was a talented hair dresser and graciously gave of her time to cut and style friends' and neighbors' hair, but children gave her the most pleasure, and she was always watching or caring for a niece, nephew or grandchild. She was an avid gardener, cook, and loved to read, especially books to enrich her spiritual life and to educate herself since she never graduated from high school. She believed education was the way to success and encouraged her children to aspire to receive one. Josephine's laugh was infectious and she had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and appreciated. She also loved to be at her West Creek house with her husband cooking and entertaining for family and friends…crabbing being the main event. A devoted daughter of the late John Woloszyn and Olga nee Sobczak. Beloved wife of the late Carl M. Sorg of Camden, NJ. Loving mother of Carol J. Neumann and her late husband William of West Creek, Carl Sorg and his wife Linda of West Creek and Mark Sorg and wife Suzanne of Haddon Township. Josephine's greatest gifts were her grandchildren Cara (Matthew), Bill (Kristina), Lindsay (James), Courtney (Zachary), Carl (Amber), Zachary (Lyndsey) and Jacob (Kristina) and 10 great-grandchildren. She also was a loving sister through life to five sisters and two brothers. Survived by several nieces and nephews, too. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 8:30 AM -10:00 AM at Inglesby and Sons Funeral Home, 2426 N. Cove Rd. Pennsauken, NJ 08109. Visitation services will be held in accordance with COVID guidelines, therefore limiting individuals within the facilities and we ask to please be considerate of the family and others wishing to pay respects. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. John's Church, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108.
