Marie C. Warner, a beloved figure in her community and cherished family matriarch, passed away in Camden County, NJ, on November 16, 2023. Born in Philadelphia on March 5, 1953, Marie's life was marked by a deep and unwavering love for her family, friends, and the simple pleasures of life. Marie was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Swanson and Marie Saunders Swanson. Following the loss of her father, Marie's mother remarried Harry Clayton, who lovingly stepped into the role of Marie's stepfather. Marie shared a close bond with her sister, Linda Kramer, and the two remained lifelong confidantes and best friends. In 1971, Marie graduated from Cherry Hill West High School, setting a strong educational foundation that she would later encourage in her children and grandchildren. Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life, Harry E. Warner III. They built a beautiful life together, characterized by mutual respect, shared values, and a love that was palpable to everyone they encountered. Harry predeceased Marie, but their love story remained a cherished part of her legacy. Marie was a devoted mother to her five children: Harry Warner IV, Donna Chester (Richard Chester), Dawn Sulligan (Keith Glenn), the late Robert Lee Sulligan, and the late Raymond Warner. She took immense pride in their accomplishments and loved them unconditionally. Her grandchildren, Daniel Chester, Joseph Sarafinko IV, Blake Warner, Marc Sarafinko, Aaron Chester, Eric Chester and Richard Chester Jr. (RJ), were the apples of her eye, and she doted on her great-grandson, Jace Chester, who brought immense joy to her later years. Marie had a range of interests that kept her busy and fulfilled. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed going on cruises with her husband. Fishing was a passion that she held dear to her heart. In her downtime, she loved playing mahjong, completing puzzles, and losing herself in the pages of a good book. Marie was known for her love of Christmas and her baking skills, with her cookies being the highlight of many family gatherings. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family and had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly her grandsons' dogs, Humphrey and Geno. Marie was loving, selfless, and friendly, always putting others' needs before her own. She was a beacon of positivity, her warm smile, and gentle nature drawing people to her. Marie had an innate ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her home was a haven for many, her kitchen table a place of comfort, laughter, and wisdom. Marie C. Warner leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. Her life was a testament to the power of family, the importance of kindness, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
