Phyllis E. Rondet

On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Phyllis Rondet joined her late husband and soul mate, Daryle Curtner, at the eternal poker game in the sky. She knows Ernie Histing will also be at that card table. She is survived by her devoted daughter Fran and "son" Dave Kline, of Grand Bay, Alabama; her best friend, confidant, and loving sister, Carole Trowbridge of Stowe, Vermont; her grandchildren Samantha Miller and Nicholas Kline; two great-grandsons, John and Jaxson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Phyllis worked for FMC Corporation for 36 years starting out as a Junior Programmer in Philadelphia and was promoted through the ranks to become an I.T. Programming Manager. Soon after being hired there, she enrolled at Rutgers University in Camden and graduated magna cum laude with a dual degree in Business and Psychology. After earning her degree, she taught Computer Science for eight years at Rutgers night school. Toward the end of her tenure at FMC, she assumed a Project Manager position in Princeton. She was "persuaded" to retire in 2009 ("They made me an offer I couldn't refuse", she joked). After retiring, Phyllis always said she was so busy, she never knew how she ever had time to work. For several years, she was a guest and volunteer at VFW Post 1270 in Pennsauken. In 2007 she was able to reinstitute the Ladies Auxiliary charter and was the elected treasurer for the Auxiliary every year since. She also was instrumental in reinstating the charter for AMVETS Post 101 Ladies Auxiliary in 2013 and was the treasurer there as well. Phyllis was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 372 in Cherry Hill. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing poker, watching the Eagles and the Phillies, reading, playing the piano, visiting "her" island of Barbados and just having fun. Friends and relatives are invited to her Celebration of Life of Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 3:00-5:00pm at Inglesby and Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken, NJ. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made of VFW Post 1270 Auxiliary, 2324 Penn Street, Pennsauken, NJ 08110.
