Dr. Wayne Herbert Rambo

on Oct. 31, 2011, age 64, of Merchantville, NJ. Beloved husband of Alice nee Huber and dear father of Ted Amanda Rambo of Manassas, VA. and Faith Robert Yager of Albany, NY. Dear brother of Douglas Rambo of Medford, NJ. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Shelby, Robbie Jr. and Peyton. Dr. Rambo worked for Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Salem, West Chester Colleges and Fort Dix Prison as an adjunct professor, retiring in 2009. He received his doctorate at Temple and was on the Merchantville Board of Education for 12 years. Eulogy by Faith and Ted Rambo There is a fine line between genius and insanity. No statement describes Pop better. For those of you who knew him, knew that he was eccentric to say the least. What many of you didn't know is that he suffered from a rare brain disease that began afflicting him at an early age. It's so sad because he had a great intellectual mind. His illness explains much of his strange behavior and his disheveled appearance. We are guilty of spending much of our childhood being embarrassed to be around him. Sadly, we did not know about this desease until it was too late. If we had known, we could have been more tolereant and accepting instead of blaming him and being angry at him. We can't help but feel terribly guilty for the way we treated him and never telling him that we loved him. Underneath the sickness that afflicted him, laid a gentle father. We have fond memories of trips to the Jersey Shore making him mud pies...that he actually ate, riding bikes and trips to the park, playing cars with us in the hallway of his office in Philly and whenever Mom said no to something, we always knew Pop would say yes. It's ironic that he passed on Halloween because he always took us trick or treating, it was the one time of year he could dress the way he always did, but wouldn't be out of place. While he taught us a lot in life, the most valuable lesson he taught us in his passing is to never judge a book by its cover. While he wasn't a normal father, he was our father and we loved him.
