Edna E. "Betty" Soltner, a longtime resident of Pennsauken, NJ, and a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully due to heart failure on February 13, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on October 21, 1934, in Camden, NJ. Betty lived a full life marked by devotion to her family, her work, and her passions. Betty grew up in Pennsauken and was a proud graduate of Merchantville High School, where she made lifelong friends and memories. After graduation, she dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, a role she cherished and in which she excelled. Betty's love for her children was the cornerstone of her life. She later combined her love for children and her community by serving as a school bus driver, a job that allowed her to form countless fond relationships with the children she transported and their families. In her personal life, Betty was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, rarely missing a game and always ready to discuss the team's latest performance. Her love for reading was known to all who visited her home, as her collection of books was vast and varied. Betty found joy in the simple things, like the smell of fresh bread in the oven and the laughter of her grandchildren echoing through her home. Baking was one of her many talents, and her family eagerly anticipated her delicious creations at every gathering. Family was the center of Betty's world. She is survived by her loving children, James Soltner, Kathryn Coumbe, Beth Soltner, and Charles Soltner. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, resilience, and love. Betty's joy multiplied with the birth of her grandchildren, Jamie, Emily, and Austin Soltner, who will fondly remember their grandmother's warm hugs, words of wisdom, and unwavering support. Betty's presence was a gift to those who knew her. Her warm smile, her gentle nature, and her ability to listen without judgment made her a confidant and friend to many. Her home was always open, her kitchen table always ready to host family and friends for a cup of coffee and a slice of her famous pie. The memories of Betty's unwavering strength, her deep compassion, and her boundless love will be cherished and kept alive by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a beacon of light in the lives of her family and friends, and her legacy will continue to shine through the lives she touched. Betty's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of motherhood, and the joy of lifelong learning. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her loved ones for generations to come. We say goodbye to Betty not with sadness but with gratitude for the time we were given with such an extraordinary woman. Her journey on this earth has ended, but her story will be told again and again, as she lives on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her funeral will be held at graveside on Friday 2/23/2024 at Lakeview Memorial Park at 11:00AM.
