RIBEIRO, Josephine ?MARY? on April 6, 2005, age 82, nee Klapps of Pennsauken NJ. Beloved wife of Walter G. ?BUD? and dear mother of Carol William Martin of Langhorne PA, Jean Dominic Lizzio of Berlin, Joan Robert Peterson of Salt Lake City UT and Walter Jr. Deborah of Haddon Heights NJ. Also survived by six grandchildren and four brothers Peter Klapps of Silver Spring MD, Jerome Shirley Klapps, Rev. Fr. William J. Klapps both of Bear DE and James Klapps of Fairbanks AK. Mary, as she was always called, was born in Sugar Notch PA. on Dec. 1, 1922. She was one of 11 children of the late Louis and Catherine nee Sordoni Klapps. She graduated Cooper Hospital School of Nursing in 1945 as a RN and practiced in hospitals in Miami, North Jersey and Wilkes Barre, PA. In 1947 she met her future husband while doing Private Duty nursing at Cooper Hospital, taking care of Walter?s mother. Mary belonged to the Cooper Hospital Alumni Assoc. since 1945 and baked cookies and cakes for the meetings for over 46 years. She loved to cook, especially for her husband, children and grandchildren. Mary and Walter loved to travel and have done ?Heli-Hiking? in the Canadian Rockies; rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon; Alaska and Pt. Barrow; Portugal; Spain; Italy; Mexico; Canada and many other places. They had a snowmobile for over 30 years and took many trips with it to the Pocono Mts., New York State and other places. Her favorite winter vacations were in Clearwater Beach and Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Mary was deeply religious and loved her Parish, St. Peter?s, Merchantville, NJ where all four children attended school. She served part-time as a School Nurse at St. Peter?s, a Red Cross Nurse, the Pennsauken Ambulance Squad and other charitable organizations.
