O'Donnell, Joseph John, Jr., 77, of Port Richey, Fl passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in Florida. Born in Woodbury, NJ to the late Joseph J., Sr. and Edith (Johnston) O'Donnell. Mr. O'Donnell was a teacher at Paul VI High School in Haddon Twp. from 1969 to 1972, and later, manager of advertising and public relations for Metrologic Instruments in Bellmawr from 1973 to 1975. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Kingston, PA in 1965 and from King's College, Wilkes Barre, PA in 1969 with a B.A. degree in English. In 1972, he left Paul VI to pursue his master's degree in public relations at Boston University, returning to South Jersey to work for Metrologic. After Metrologic, he served in many advertising, public relations, community relations, sales promotion and marketing positions with Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, PA; Transport International Pool, Bala Cynwyd, PA; Micromedic Systems, Horsham, PA; Rohm and Haas, Philadelphia; Williams Mobile Offices, Baltimore, MD and the Transplant Resource Center of Maryland. He earned an advanced professional graduate certificate in organizational behavior and business strategy from Drexel in 1988. During his career, Mr. O'Donnell continued to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in advertising, marketing and public relations at St. Francis College, Allentown, PA, Towson University, Maryland and the University of Phoenix. In Florida, he worked for the state employment agency, Career Central and taught for the Pasco County School System. He also owned and operated Stragicom, a public communications and marketing consulting agency in Florida. He is survived by his brother, Michael of Cherry Hill, NJ; his sister, Patricia Seybert of Port Richey, FL; Divorced in 2003, he leaves three children, Marnie, Alex and Robyn and several grandchildren. Funeral services are private.
