Louise Edwards

On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Louise Edwards, our beloved matriarch, peacefully entered into eternal life. Born on May 10, 1936 in Mount Holly, NJ to the late Thelma and Isaiah Thomas, Louise was well known for her beautiful, sweet smile and pleasant demeanor. Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Goodrich Marion Edwards. She leaves behind to mourn her loss her daughters, Detrice S. Payton and Louise Edwards, stepson Lamont Edwards, as well as four grandchildren, Christina S. Payton, Sanaa Edwards, Bailey Edwards, and Sharzad Bahnas. Louise graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ. She later worked for several companies until her retirement from United Fabrics in Pennsauken, NJ. Louise was an avid seamstress and loved to sew new fashions. She created everything from furniture slip covers to wedding gowns. She was also a competitive bowler, serving on a bowling league for several years. Louise loved her family and loved the Lord. She could often be found with her favorite bible in hand, reciting scriptures and praying for her loved ones. Louise leaves behind her younger sister, Rose Shelton (Albert), and brother Isaiah Thomas, Jr (Dianne). Her sister Frances Sheppard (Eric), and Brothers Raymond Britt (Rita) and Leonard Thomas preceded her in death. To cherish her memory, she also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Although Louise will be missed more than words can express, we are grateful for the years that God allowed us to spend together, and fortunate to be left with many precious memories to comfort us in our time of sorrow. Until we meet again. Family and friends are invited to her visitation service from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Inglesby and Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken, NJ 08109. Interment will be private. Visitation services will be held in accordance with COVID guidelines, therefore limiting individuals within the facilities. Due to the overwhelming support and love for Louise, we ask to please be considerate of the family and others wishing to pay respects.
